I was born in 1968 in Pittsburgh, PA, the same city where one of my all-time favorite painters, Mary Cassatt, was born. After growing up in VA, I studied at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh from 1986-88 and received a degree in fashion illustration. As a portrait artist, I'm largely self-taught, although I've had the wonderful experience of attending a couple workshops with Everett Raymond Kinstler at The Art Students League in New York and at Loryn Brazier's workshop here in Richmond. During my years as a portrait artist, I've also had opportunites working as a courtroom illustrator for Richmond's Channel 6 and also CNN.

My husband Kerry and I currently live in Bon Air with our two children Noah and Lilah and our little dog Belle. My studio is in downtown Richmond.

I've always been fascinated by people and am very sensitive to the beauty in their expressions. It is a privilege and an honor to be the artist chosen to do a loved one's portrait. I consider myself fortunate to be able to do work that I enjoy!
